Western Horseman April 2019

Western Horseman

Regular price $ 6.00

We’ve dedicated the April issue to our working canine companions, as shown on the cover photo featuring horseman Ken McNabb in the saddle alongside his Australian Shepherd dogs, Junior and Mesa. Dogs are a large part of many horse owners’ lives and ranching operations, as covered in the feature article “Cow Dog Cool,” by Ross Hecox. The article “Dog and Pony Shows” highlights how the Rodear America Cowdog Association hosts stock dog competitions that require the use of a horse. And don’t miss new canine products you’ll appreciate using at the barn.

Additionally, the April issue has a feature on rancher, TV personality and blogger Mackenzie Kimbro (“Blooming in the Desert,” by Kate Bradley Byars); an in-depth look at top equine health concerns owners can ward off (“Simple Solutions,” by Katie Frank); and the story of how a community of ranchers teams up with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to help the Beaty Butte wild horses in southeaster Oregon (“A Stable Future,” by Jennifer Dension).
